Life of Pi - Yann Martel

I had heard a lot about this book when it was published. Friends and many bloggers extollingly recommended to read it. Many had even told me that reading this book will make the reader believe in God. The yearn to read this book finally ended this month, thanks to the self imposed ediction of reading atleast 3 books a month.
The recommendations and suggestions had made me keep high expectations about the book though was disappointed a bit as I read through it.

"Life of Pi" written by the Canadian Author Yann Martel is the story of an Indian, Piscine Molitor Patel aka "Pi" and his venturesome journey on a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean
The entire novel is sundered into three parts but somehow felt that the story of the first part never got connected to the second part.

Part one is about the early life of Piscine Patel and his experiences with zoo, animals and spirituality. Some of the details mentioned like Pi at the age of 14 practicing the three religions ( Hinduism, Islam and Christianity )at the same time creates an interest and makes reader feel that there is something more to it but never finds its germaneness with the later parts of the story
Pi's father will be running a zoo and due to political actions in the country, the entire family decides to move to Canada closing down the zoo and selling majority of its animals to America. The family gets loaded on the ship with the animals to go to Canada.

Part two talks about the sinking ship and a situation ending up with the Pi Patel, Zebra, Hyena, Orangutan & Bengal Tiger on a lifeboat as the survivors from the mishap. Necessity of food and survival of the fittest results in Pi Patel and the Tiger as the final two on the boat. The story continues with the journey of Pi and the Tiger for 227 days on a pacific ocean on a lifeboat.

The author gives a twist in the third part with the new perception to what would have happened during the journey and leaves it to the reader to make the choice of which one to believe.

A book you might like, if read without much expectation.

My Rating - 2.5 ( Between Average and Good )

Any individual from the avid book readers community will immediately accede to the point without any contemplation that books are the life time best friends for any human being

A business sculpt at its crudest as of now ….

I cerebrate at times about - “An organization that asks its employees to do what that interests them and pays for them?”

I am a firm believer that every human on this Earth is special and will be possessing at least one, if not many adept dexterity/interest/ambitions.

Preponderantly it so happens that humans will not be able to identify this skill/interest in them and even if they identify it they would never pursue in it.
Lack of Opportunity, Financial Commitments, Fear of Failure, Improper Guidance, Family, Emotional, Funding, Ego, Recognition issues and many more such reasons make it difficult to live their dreams.

How it would be if there is a company in which you can define your own roles, responsibilities and targets??

How it would be if there is a company which will pay emoluments for doing what that interests you??

How it would be if there is a company which will share the profits earned because of you??

How it would be if there is a company which is totally employee centric??

I do comprehend that this idea is just in its pre-nascent stages and might create weird expressions on the face of people who read / listen about this, but my instincts says that this one will be a sure winner.

If everything goes as anticipated, I know about a company that will come to its existence in 2017 with the above said business model albeit a much matured one.

To end with, this ( as of now non existing) company already have a couple of people who are very much enthralled about this model and are willing to join as soon as the company comes to its existenceJ
